Short version: no accounts, no ads, and your garden stays on your device.
What's stored in your browser
PlotPlan saves your garden plan, journal entries, completed tasks, rotation plan, ZIP code, zone and frost-date overrides in your browser's localStorage, under keys starting with plotplan:. They never leave your device unless you use the AI advisor (below). Clearing your browser data removes them, or use this button:
ZIP code lookup
When you click "Find my zone", your ZIP code is sent through our server to phzmapi.org, a public service that returns the USDA hardiness zone for that ZIP. We don't log it.
AI garden advisor
Only when you press "Review my plan" or "Ask", your plan summary or question, your zone, frost dates and (in the journal) your latest few entries are sent to an AI model (openai/gpt-6-luna) through Vercel AI Gateway to generate a reply. We don't store these requests. Please don't include personal details in questions.
Analytics
We use Ahrefs Web Analytics to count page views. It is cookieless and doesn't build personal profiles.
